The German Co. partners with the Howick Community Farmers and Maitland River Milling to bring you the best of rural Ontario.
In southern Ontario, our roots go deep. Originally from Germany and Switzerland, our Mennonite ancestors settled in the area of what is now Kitchener, Ontario c. 1800. The co-operative company formed to purchase this tract of land they named - The German Co.
Today some Mennonites still have not assimilated with the surrounding culture. Central to our life, is our faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that secular culture is conflictive with our Christian faith and have thus formed our own culture. From this culture rises a strong work ethic and the grains that make The German Co. what it is.
